Faulconbridge (West of Grose Road)
Here are some highlights of Romola’s advocacy and work for our community in Faulconbridge:
In this term of Council, Romola has:
• advocated strongly for improvements to the Corridor of Oaks and Sir Henry Parkes Grave. In May 2021, Council received $2m funding to upgrade this precious heritage area.
• stood up for local residents who have been affected by drainage and storm water issues. In response, Council will now be creating a specific drainage improvement and maintenance program
• worked with community groups and the State member Trish Doyle MP to call on the State Government to address the highway safety issues at Faulconbridge. Following many years of collective advocacy, in May 2021, the State Government has announced it will upgrade the highway at Faulconbridge
• taken up concerns on behalf of Faulconbridge Public Schools regarding traffic management issues on the local roads around the school. In response, Council has improved the signage and parking arrangements.
If re-elected, Romola will:
• fight for improvements to the pedestrian safety along Railway Parade. Already, Romola has called for more funding to be directed to building footpaths and improving pedestrian access.
• hold the State Government to account on the delivery of long-called-for safety improvements on the Great Western Highway at Faulconbridge
• continue to be a strong local and active voice for the community of Faulconbridge and the people of Ward 2.
